WILLIAMSBURG – Big Lots in Williamsburg will open its doors to the public once again in June, the company announced Monday.

The Williamsburg store is one of 80 across the nation set to reopen under new management. The news comes just weeks after dozens of other stores reopened on May 15, including the Yorktown location.

Some background: In December, Big Lots announced that it would be closing all of its stores following a bankruptcy filing. The company has since entered into a deal with Variety Wholesalers, which has acquired hundreds of stores.

“We’re thrilled to bring the Big Lots! brand back to life by offering more deals than ever, lots of famous brands and a new apparel department for the entire family,” Variety Wholesalers CEO Lisa Seigies said in April.

Here’s a list of Big Lots stores set to open in Virginia next month:

  • Chesapeake (1971 Military Highway South)
  • Hampton (2318 West Mercury Boulevard)
  • Norfolk (1851 E. Little Creek Road)
  • Richlands (180 Kents Ridge Road)
  • Vinton (1090 Bypass Road)
  • Williamsburg (6610 Mooretown Road)

Additional details, including hours of operation, will soon be available on the Big Lots website. A grand opening for these locations is expected to be held in the fall, according to Variety Wholesalers.
