Winter Blues Jazz Fest returns to Williamsburg Jan. 17-20

WILLIAMSBURG – The Winter Blues Jazz Fest is set to return to downtown Williamsburg this weekend.
Attendees will enjoy four days of live music and special events, including educational programs and dining experiences.
The festival, organized by local nonprofit CultureFix, will kick off at the William & Mary Alumni House with Brasswind at 7 p.m. on Friday. Late-night performances by Billy Joe Daniel’s Blues Jam and Wyatt Michael will follow.
Now in its 11th year, the event offers a variety of music and educational programs designed to suit all tastes and budgets, according to a news release.
Saturday’s lineup includes a free jazz improvisation workshop and music by Roberta Lea and Katie Henry. Guests can then choose to attend one of two after-party shows.
A New Orleans Jazz Brunch with music by Matt Fattal’s 504 Supreme will be offered on Sunday morning, followed by an afternoon performance by Hoot & Annie. The evening will feature a Sunday Supper at Culture Cafe and a performance by Kadencia.
The festival concludes on Monday with a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., featuring The Legendary Ingramettes. This event will be held at the Alumni House at 10 a.m. and is free and open to the public.
Four-day and single-day passes are available, or festival-goers can purchase tickets for individual events.
