Local café Hohl to open second location in Colonial Williamsburg

Popular local café Hohl, based in the historic area of Toano, is set to open a second location near Colonial Williamsburg in October.
A fully restored, 1906 home located at 219 N Boundary Street will be the site of the new coffee shop. It will feature both indoor and outdoor seating.
The Colonial Williamsburg spot will compliment the Toano café, which is located in the Travers House, a historic home also built in the early 1900s.
Background: Hohl opened in its original location at 7961 Richmond Road in August 2022. It is owned and operated by Australian businessman Chris Starke, who worked closely with the Toano Historical Society to make his vision for the site a reality.
- “We’re so excited to open our second location in the heart of Williamsburg, joining an already thriving hospitality community,” Hohl announced in a Sept. 19 social media post. “This would not be possible without the support of our community, friends and family, as well as the incredible team that makes it happen daily.”
On the menu: Hohl focuses on freshly-prepared breakfast and lunch items for both dine-in and carryout, with options that accommodate a variety of dietary needs. Seasonal items, baked goods and freshly-brewed coffees are also on the menu. The new location will have its own unique offerings but will remain consistent with the Hohl concept, according to the owner.
