Fall concert series lineups announced for Rhythms on the Riverwalk, New Town Tunes

Cooler days and longer nights are just around the corner, and that means free fall concerts will soon return to the Historic Triangle.
Lineups have been announced for both the Rhythms on the Riverwalk and New Town Tunes.
Rhythms on the Riverwalk
Yorktown’s annual Rhythms on the Riverwalk series returns for its 20th season on Thursday, Sept. 4. The free outdoor concerts will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays through mid-October.
The series will focus on a range of musical genres, including country, rhythms & blues, jazz, Motown and swing.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Rotating food trucks will be onsite to provide snacks and dinner, and many Historic Yorktown restaurants will be open for dine-in and takeout.
Here’s the lineup:
September 4: Runnin’ Shine
Runnin’ Shine, a four-piece country band with high energy, delivers what they call “Rage Country.” They play original songs along with well-known covers that get the crowd dancing. The group has shared stages with top artists like Billy Ray Cyrus, LANCO and Jimmie Allen.
September 11: The KOS Band
Known as Virginia’s premier dance band for over 40 years, The KOS Band plays beach music, Motown classics, Top 40 hits and tunes from the ’60s to today They’ve performed for presidents, senators, weddings and parties.
September 18: Anthony Rosano and The Conqueroos
Anthony Rosano and The Conqueroos perform a blend of blues and rock. Known for guitar work, soulful vocals and a diverse rhythm section, this group of talented musicians brings it all to the stage.
September 25: WonderLand
Hailing from Hampton Roads, this four-piece group makes any night a dance party. Their song list spans from ’70s classics to 2000s hits, including modern rock, pop and throwback favorites. They’re bound to play something you know.
October 2: The Heather Edwards Band
The Heather Edwards Band performs multiple genres of mucic, including country hits, female anthems and Soutern rock. They’ve opened for top talent like Sam Hunt, Jason Aldean and more.
October 9: Good Shot Judy
Good Shot Judy is the Mid-Atlantic’s number one high-octane swing band. They bring smooth jazz and big band classics to the stage to keep audiences dancing.
Onsite parking is available at Riverwalk Landing, and additional parking can be found at York Hall, the York County Administration Building, York-Poquoson Court Complex and other designated lots throughout town.
The free Yorktown Trolley will run until 9 p.m. on concert nights with a modified route that still includes some stops on the outskirts of town.

New Town Tunes
Free outdoor evening concerts will return to Sullivan Square in New Town beginning on Sept. 3.
Presented by James City County Parks & Recreation in partnership with CultureFix VA and New Town Commercial Association, the six-concert series features a diverse range of music.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase onsite. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket and invite friends, family or coworkers. Pets are welcome.
All concerts will be held on Wednesday starting at 5 p.m.

Sept. 3: Good Shot Judy
This big amp jazz band is a regional favorite.
Sept. 10: Hangar 09/The Connection
Guests will be treated to a double-featuring showcasing classic rock from Hangar 09 and blues, rock and folk from The Connection.
Sep. 17: Cody Christian Band / Cawson’s Coop
Concertgoers will enjoy an evening of classic rock by Cody Christian Band and rock, blues, country and folk with Cawson’s Coop.
Sept. 24: One Irish Rover Band
This tribute band performs Van Morrison’s greatest hits.
Oct. 1: Chong Band
Chong Band will warm up the night with a diverse evening of classic reggae, rock, funk, Americana and Bluegrass.
Oct. 8: Revelation Band
The New Town Tunes concert series closes out for the season with the high-energy Revelation Band, renowned for their performances of Motown, rock, pop, dance and soul classics.
