‘Something for everyone’: New family-friendly market series to launch at Waller Mill Park this summer

WILLIAMSBURG – A new community market series is coming to Williamsburg this summer – and this one will take place in the evening. 

Set against the backdrop of Waller Mill Park, Millstone Market will run from 4 to 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month, June through September.

Mollie Romero, farmers market manager for the City of Williamsburg, said the inspiration behind the concept came directly from the community.

“Waller Mill Park offers such a beautiful, natural setting,” Romero said. “We felt it was the perfect opportunity to create a new community gathering space that combines local shopping, food, music and recreation.”

The city distributes annual surveys to gather input from farmers market attendees. Recent feedback has been clear: Nearly 70% of respondents wanted the opportunity to attend a weekday market, according to Communications Director Nicole Trifone.

The goal behind the launch of Millstone Market is not only to provide a unique community gathering experience but also to introduce more people to Waller Mill Park, Romero noted.

“We wanted to create something that feels different from a traditional Saturday market – an evening experience where people can stop by after work, enjoy the park, listen to music, grab dinner and support local businesses,” Romero said.

Beyond shopping and dining, guests will be able to take advantage of the park’s amenities, including its watercraft rentals, before or after visiting the market. 

Designed to appeal to locals and visitors alike, Millstone Market will establish another platform for farmers, food producers and small businesses to connect with the community.

Attendees can expect to find a mix of local farmers, artisan makers, craft vendors, food trucks, sweet treats and live music. The events are family-friendly and open to all.

“From fresh local products to handcrafted goods and delicious food, there will truly be something for everyone to enjoy,” Romero said.

Admission to Waller Mill Park is free, and there is no entrance fee to visit the market. 

Millstone Market will be held on the following dates in 2026:

• July 16
• Aug. 20
• Sept. 17
