Trump Delays Pompeo’s Trip To North Korea
US President Donald Trump has asked his top diplomat Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to cancel a planned trip to North Korea.
Trump, in a tweet on Friday, insinuated that there was no need for the trip as, according to him, insufficient progress was being made on denuclearising the Korean peninsula.
He did not end there. He suggested that China was not doing enough to pressure Pyongyang, due to trade tensions with the US.
Trump and the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un had met in June, with the US president saying that Pyongyang was no longer a nuclear threat.
But recent reports show that the country was still dragging its feet in this regard.
