Imo APC Governorship Candidate Missing As INEC Publishes List
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the coming Imo State governorship election was conspicuously missing on the list of governorship candidates published by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Friday.
The commission published the names of 67 candidates and their respective running mates at its office in Owerri.
The Punch reports that a source at INEC said there were court orders stopping the Commission from publishing any name as the governorship candidate of the APC in the state.
Newsbreak reports that Uche Nwosu and Senator Hope Uzodinma have been battling, both in court and within the party, for the candidacy of the party.
Nwosu was declared the winner of the October 6 APC governorship primary while Uzodinma was pronounced winner of the October 1 primary which allegedly did not hold in the state.
