Aisha Buhari Seeks Legislation To Address Motherhood Issues
Aisha Buhari, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, has called for enabling legislations to address issues confronting socio-cultural sensitivities of motherhood at different communities.
Hajia Buhari spoke through Hajia Magajiya Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, the wife of Jigawa State governor, on the occasion of the distribution of empowerment kits worth millions of Naira to 486 beneficiaries of 30 different constituencies across the state.
She stated the administration has placed premium in pursuance of different women initiatives with vigour with the aim to better the lots of different women groups across the country.
Least among them were provisions of training opportunity on different Economic Empowerment Programmes in different sections of the country, ICT programmes, and soft loan disbursement to women through their cooperative societies in various states of the federation.
She also called on state governments to support Girl Child Education to end the menace of street hawking by the girl child of different societies and early marriage in parts of the country.
In her speech, Hajia Magajiya, the wife of Governor Badaru, highlighted some of the coordinated women programmes earlier promoted and supported by Jigawa State government.
They include goat rearing programmes, disbursement of soft loan facility to different women cooperative societies, among other economic empowerment programmes.
Some of the items distributed include sewing machines, hundreds shell chairs circles for destitute, pregnant women’s kids, among others, worth several millions of Naira.
